Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet are the main antagonists of the infamous 2023 British independent slasher film Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and it's sequel Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 that serves as a horror retelling of the late A.A. Milne's original 1926 book which entered the public domain in 2022.

While they were good characters in the original book and Disney version, they got awfully flanderized and derailed in their horror re-imagining film.

Why They Deserve To Be Abandoned

    Both

    1. Similar to Ren and Stimpy from Ren and Stimpyː Adult Party Cartoon, Bobby Generic from Never Before Seen Bobby's World Video, Fleegle, Bingo and Drooper from The Banana Splits Movie, The Grinch from The Mean One, Cinderella from the upcoming Cinderella's Curse, Bambi from the upcoming Bambi: The Reckoning, Mickey Mouse from the upcoming Mickey’s Mouse Trap and Peter Pan from the upcoming Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, Pooh and Piglet both got flanderized AND derailed from being wholesome children's characters to becoming reimagined as evil bloodthirsty horror movie villains.
    2. They ruined the vacation of a group of college girls that were renting a cabin in a 100 Acre Wood by killing them all one by one and even killed Lara by squishing her head using a car. The original and Disney versions of Pooh and Piglet would never do such a thing.
    3. They are psychopaths, as they show no remorse for killing everyone except Christopher that were in the 100 Acre Wood because he left them for college to become a doctor. Just because somebody leaves you for college doesn't mean you should start killing people.
    4. They incompetently don't even know how to defend themselves as they never even build their own homes and worst of all, they, alongside Owl and Rabbit ate Eeyore and then selfishly blamed Christopher Robin and all of humanity for their own doings after that.
    5. The film tries way too hard to paint both Pooh and Piglet as tragic villains, but they end up coming off as being too lazy and incompetent to try and fend for themselves, only relying on Christopher Robin to bring them food.
    6. Their costumes are extremely ugly, unfaithful, and unconvincing given that they're obviously just two guys in masks.
      • Not to mention, that instead of being stuffed animals like they were in their previous incarnations, they're crossbreeds, which is made as a poor excuse to them being just two guys in masks.
    7. Given how much attention the film got due to its premise, it is most certainly that the reputation of both the original book and Disney versions of Winnie-the-Pooh has become completely ruined.
    8. Both Craig David Dowsett and Chris Cordell did bad jobs portraying them.
    9. They are one of the reasons why Blood and Honey has received a poor reception. Plus it got a sequel, which is even worse than the first film. It will also get a third installment, which is just bad. Also it's still a franchise that got made just for money.

    Pooh

    1. First off, he got flanderized and derailed as he went from a silly bear who loved honey, loved playing games and cared about Christopher to an evil bloodthirsty bear who is obsessed with nothing but human blood and killing people for no motive or reason at all.
    2. He is mostly responsible for Lara's death since he was the one who drove the car that squished her head.
    3. His design looks ugly, lazy and unfaithful. His mask in particular looks stupid and at the same time looks like he wants to ridicule Xi Jinping, China's president.
      • Most of the time his mask has the same goofy smile in almost all of the movie and the scenes where he does change his facial expressions are also laughably uncanny.
    4. He never gets his comeuppance for killing millions of people like Lara and gets away with it making him a karma houdini unlike Piglet who gets killed by Alice for killing Mary.
    5. He acts less like Winnie the Pooh and more like a Michael Myers ripoff.

    Piglet

    1. He has also gotten flanderization and derailed, as he went from a cute little pig who also cared about Christopher into an killer hog who is also obsessed with killing people like Pooh is here.
      • In fact, his flanderization and derailment is worse than Pooh's.
    2. He is responsible for Christopher's wife, Mary's death.
    3. His design is terrible as his mask looks more like a distorted version of Pumbaa from The Lion King and doesn't look ANYTHING like his original design. His design got worse in the second film as he now looks like some obese guy cosplaying as him.
    4. He doesn't talk in the movie and instead he only makes pig sounds, which is unusual since in the original book and Disney versions he could talk. (Though to be fair, he and Pooh made a pact not to speak again at the beginning of the movie after eating Eeyore.)
    5. His death is entirely pointless, given how he's apparently still alive in the second movie.

    Redeeming Qualities

    1. They were much better characters in the original book and Disney version.
      • They are also thankfully not canon to the Disney and book versions of themselves. As those versions remain likable.
    2. Unlike Pooh, Piglet gets his comeuppance for killing Mary, Christopher's wife as he gets killed by Alice. (Although he's clearly alive in the upcoming second film.)
    3. You can hilariously laugh at how bad they are giving the "so bad, it's good" vibe.
    4. Thankfully Pooh got a new redesign in the second film, as he now makes facial expressions, but that's about it.
      • Piglet's redesign isn't too bad either.
    5. Because of their awful cases of both flanderization and derailment and them killing people, they are clearly made to be hated.
