David 8, commonly known as David, is a fictional character featured in the Alien franchise, portrayed by Michael Fassbender. Introduced in the first two Alien prequel films, PrometheusAMW, and Alien: CovenantAMW.

Why He Sucks

  1. The biggest problem with this character that he has the equivalence of Vince Vaughn's Norman Bates.
  2. The movie itself had made him so obvious that he is the evil synthetic of the Alien franchise, right from the first time we see him on screen, and his character tried so desperately that he seemed to be some kind of likable, evil. In fact, this movie actually seems and sounds more like a parody, rather than being a very serious message about him.
  3. His character is poorly written, leaving him to be a total Gary Stus, and a spoiled Synthetic.
  4. He is completely out of character very quickly, in Alien: Covenant for many reasons:
    • In his flashback, He nearly commits the Genocides, and nearly killed all of the big Engineer humans when he arrives at the city of engineers.
    • He keeps too many idiotic mistakes throughout his screen time, making them impossible to root for. One of the worst examples is that he pretends that he is Daniel, but at the very end of the movie, he went back to his original name and he freezes Walter in her hypersleep.
  5. In the movie Prometheus, He spikes Holloway's drink without any emotions, or any other thought.
  6. His acting is poor, he flat out wins at the end of both movies making him a complete Villain Sue.
  7. He gives the Xenomorphs WAY too much backstory, which he takes away what made them mysterious from our beloved franchise.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. Michael Fassbender's performance as David is the best selling point of this movie.
  2. His suit looks decent as least.
