Sugar was a contestant and one of the two main antagonists of Total Drama: Pahkitew Island as a member of the Wâneyihtam Maskwak. She was voiced by Rochelle Wilson.

Personality

Sugar is determined to be crowned queen of the pageant known as Total Drama. She is used to the life of competition and beauty and has exhibited impressive game strategies despite her lack of brainpower. She's fearless, strong, and is always willing to try new and unusual things as shown by her claim that she's thrown a tractor before and also eating a tarantula with no hesitation. When Sugar doesn't get her way, she can be quite abrasive and harsh, which is shown through her conflict with Ella, in which she would constantly laugh at her torture and misfortune.

Due to the pageant life, Sugar seems to be suspicious of others as she cannot recognize true kindness and is willing to tell lies in order to manipulate others. This makes it difficult for her to make friends, which she does not seem to have an issue with. She has trouble distinguishing fact from fiction, as she believes Leonard to be a real wizard and Max to be a real evil genius. Despite this, Sugar is not all bad; as Sky says, Sugar is good at staying positive, even in the darkest of situations.

Why She's Intentionally a Sugar Crash (No Pun Intended) and Absolutely Not a Pageant Queen

1. To get the elephant out of the room, Sugar is extremely unlikeable, and much like Dave and Amy, definitely one of the WORST and most hated characters in the series since she is very annoying, disgusting, harsh, and manipulates others, mostly Ella and Sky.
   • What's even worse is that she appears in nearly every episode of the season minus the finale, making you suffer as long as possible.
2. Just like Heather, Josee, Taylor, Courtney, and Amy, she's a mean popular girl, but absolutely loathsome like Amy.
3. Despite the fact that Ella likes her and is kind to her, Sugar doesn't like the latter back simply because she thinks Ella's trying to outdo her.
4. In the episode "Mo Monkey, Mo Problems", she ratted Ella out to Chris so that the latter would get eliminated for singing when Chris told Ella not to, even though it was the only way to save Dave from a bear.
5. In her debut episode, she gave Topher a death threat merely for almost scuffing her "pageant shoes".
6. During the "Truth or Scare" challenge, she ate a tarantula (albeit by accident) when she had to pet it. However, her team did earn a point, despite her misunderstanding.
7. Throughout the episode "This Is the Pits!", she constantly attempted to keep Dave and Sky apart from each other. This include spitting on her hand to clean off the blueberry juice from Sky's left cheek, throwing up all over Dave after eating lots of blueberries (which scares him in the process), and belching near Dave and Sky as they were about to kiss.
8. In the episode, "Pahk'd with Talent", Sugar antagonized Sky after their alliance is over.
9. Hypocrisy: She detested Ella's singing, yet she gleefully sings commercial jingles that sound far worse compared to the latter's songs. Sugar singing the Juggy Chunks Jingle was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS to listen to, LIKE SHUT UP FOR GOD'S SAKE, WILL YOU?ǃ
10. Her performance, "Craptry" (country and rap combined), failed to impress the judges. Not to mention, her falsetto caused damage to the island. This caused her to get eliminated.
11. She farts several times, including in her audition tape after saying "nailed it".
12. Her voice, while great for the most part, can be EAR-PIERCING AS HELL, with her singing being the worst offender.
13. 3 words: She can't spell. For example, in "Mo Monkey, Mo Problems", she couldn't spell the words "anonymous" and "gone" correctly. She spells them as "U-G-N-A-N-O-M-I-S-T" and "G-A-W-N" respectively.
14. With all her fart jokes and stupidity, she's like a female Owen, but without his kind personality.
15. Unlike past villains like Heather, Courtney, Alejandro, and Scott, who all suffered minor setbacks before their eventual humiliating defeat, Sugar practically gets off scot-free for her evil deeds, making her a Karma Houdini.

Redeeming Qualities

1. She has a cute character design.
2. She could be extremely funny sometimes.
3. Rochelle Wilson did a great job voicing her as she had an amazing Southern accent.
4. She is pretty much supposed to be unlikable since she's one of the main antagonists of this season after all.
5. To be fair, she did have a point that Chris should've been helping the contestants disarm the self-destruct instead of retreating to the helicopter and sending them to do it themselves.
6. In response to WSIASC(NPI)AANAPQ#10, she even got her comeuppance by being fired out of a cannon during her elimination, which was pretty satisfying to watch.
7. At least her Total DramaRama counterpart is a bit more tolerable as she's friends with lots of the characters in said spinoff and has a good rivalry with Leshawna.

Trivia

• Sugar is one of the few contestants to have theme music dedicated to them, the others being Alejandro, Brick, Caleb, Crimson, Duncan, Dwayne, Ennui, Izzy, Jacques, Jay, Josee, Justin, Lindsay, Bowie, Max, Mickey, most of Mike's personalities, Owen, Rock, Scary Girl, and Spud. In Sugar's case, it is a soft, fluttery theme that plays whenever she says something unintelligent.
  • This theme is also used for Lindsay.
• Sugar is one of eight characters to have a gap in their teeth, with the others being Chef Hatchet, Cody, Leonard, Mickey, Mike, Rodney, and Heather (before it was filled in with a gold tooth).
  • Not counting Heather, who didn't originally have a gap, she is the only female with a gap in her teeth.
• Sugar is one of fourteen contestants never to be voted out normally, the others being Amy, Anne Maria, Cameron, DJ, Ella, Jasmine, Max, Mike, Scarlett, Shawn, Sierra, Sky, and Zoey.
• Sugar is one of three contestants confirmed to have competed in a beauty pageant, with the others being Dakota and Taylor.
• Sugar is one of five characters to have grown up on a farm, the others being Beth, Ezekiel, Rodney, Scott.
• Sugar and Heather are both labeled as "Queens," and each have a mostly one-sided conflict with a "Princess" who they eliminate.
  • They also place third in their debut season.
  • Coincidentally, their voice actresses share the same last name (Wilson).

• If the non-elimination/non-immunity in "This Is the Pits!" is not counted, Sugar was immune for seven consecutive episodes, more than anyone else in the series.

• She appears to be a parody of TV personality Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, a spin-off of Toddlers & Tiaras as they are both beauty pageant queens, blonde, and their names are both derived from sweet foods ("Honey" and "Sugar").
  • She also appears to be a parody of Thompson's mother, June "Mama June" Shannon, who also acts as Thompson's stage mother and served in that role on Toddlers & Tiaras.
• According to Terry McGurrin, he considers Sugar one of the "super funniest" characters of Total Drama, even though she is "cartoony and ridiculous".
