Snarf (or "Snarf Osbert") is a member of the Snarf species from the ThunderCats franchise. In the original series, he was Lion-O's nurse-maid as a child (and as an adult much to Lion-O's chagrin). His nephew Snarfer calls him "Uncle Osbert".
Bad Qualities
- He is an extremely annoying creature who never shuts up whenever on screen.
- His voice is very aggravating to listen to.
- He is a constant worrier and something of a pessimist who keeps whining all the time.
- At the start of the series, Snarf often complained about how he is ignored by the others, as well as having nothing important to do now that the young lord Lion-O has grown into an adult.
- His design in the original ThunderCats series and in ThunderCats Roar is quite ugly even in cat-alien-like design standards.
- In the Robot Chicken sketch, titled “Mumm-ra is Mrs. Mumbletipeg”, he acts like a moron when he was running closer to Lion-O when he was using his sword of omens to do the “Ho” chant after Wilykit and Wilykat told him that the evil mutants are coming (but turned out to be a joke from them) and then gets stabbed.
- Speaking of ThunderCats Roar, he was turned into a robot instead of a snarf in that series for no reason at all.
Good Qualities
- His design in the 2011 ThunderCats series is a huge improvement over his design in the original ThunderCats series and in ThunderCats Roar. In this version, Snarf is now the pet of Lion-O and does not speak but makes side effects.
- He is a bit more tolerable after the original ThunderCats series.

Trivia
- According to a 2002 interview by fan site ThunderCatsFans on AIM, writer Peter Lawrence revealed that Snarf was created by executive producer Jules Bass of Rankin/Bass, who thought of Snarf as comedic relief as “everyone loves some whacko animal”.
