The scientists are characters from the games Tasty Planet, Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds and Tasty Blue. They are two scientists that work at the Nano Research Headquarters. One of them is old while the other is young. In Tasty Planet and Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds, the old scientist is the creator of the grey goo, an entity that can eat anything that is smaller than itself. However, the creation of the grey goo was different in the aforementioned games; in the original Tasty Planet, the old scientist created it in the purpose of being an automatic bathroom cleaner, while in Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds, the old scientist accidentally created it when he was experimenting with nano-technology.

Why They Suck

  1. Despite being scientists, they are literal idiots; they rarely do anything correctly.
    1. When the young scientist gets "bitten" by the grey goo, the old scientist tells him to wash his hands. This lets the grey goo escape out of the Laboratory. At least he is surprisingly good at washing his hands.
    2. When the scientists find out that the grey goo can grow in size by consuming nearby objects, instead of sending it to the Laboratory to destroy it right away, they throw it into the sea.
  2. In the original Tasty Planet, he old scientist's plan is unreasonable and somewhat disgusting, making him a jerk. Creating the Grey Goo is suicide.
  3. They are basically the video game equivalents of Sniffles from Happy Tree Friends, just dumber and unlikable.
  4. In Tasty Planet Forever, they one time asked the Parisian cat to eat everything. which caused chaos as the cat started to eat more and more things.

Redeeming Qualities

  1. In Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds and Tasty Blue, they are not as dumb as they were in the original Tasty Planet. In fact, the old scientist was actually shown to fight against problems.

  1. They had minor roles in the cat world in Tasty Planet Forever where the younger scientist is a waiter at a restaurant in Paris while the older scientist is a chef at same place. The older scientist then brings in a cat-shaped cleaning robot (that is a prototype, by the way) from his cousin and he gave it the instruction "Eat. Everything.".
