    Ragyo Kiryuin
"Anyone who dares oppose me—no, the Life Fibers—will suffer the same fate!”.
    Gender: Female
    Type: Perverted businesswoman
Age: Unknown, at least in her 40s (Was an adult woman 20 years before the series)
    Species: Life fibers infused human
    Portrayed by: Romni Park (Japanese)
    Laura Post (English)
    Status: Deceased
Media of origin: Kill la Kill

Ragyo Kiryuin is the main antagonist of Kill la Kill. She was the wife of Sōichirō Kiryūin, the mother of Satsuki Kiryūin and Ryūko Matoi, Revocs Corporation's CEO and the chair of Honnōji Academy.

Why She's a Terrible Mother to Ryuko and Satsuki

    1. She is a narcissistic hedonist extraordinaire who surrenders her own humanity to be above everyone else and be the one to end the world.
    2. She married Sōichirō solely for the sake of bearing children that she would use to be placed under dangerous experiments to test them as Life Fiber hybrids.
    3. She ordered her husband to be killed when he developed a conscious and betrayed her.
    4. She is an abusive parent who sought to dominate her daughters in whatever means necessary, physically, emotionally, even sexually for that matter. Her oldest, Satsuki, endures repeated molestation and rape ever since she was young for her own twisted view of purity while repeatedly bringing her down as a being inferior to her.
    5. She is treacherous, deceptive and manipulative, being able to deceive the people of the world into buying highly transformative Life Fiber-infused clothing.
    6. When her infant second born, Ryuko, seemingly died as a result of her experiments, Ragyo casually shrugs it off, dismissing Ryuko as a weakling and a disappointment before having tossed aside like garbage.
    7. She ripped Ryuko's heart out with her bare hand painfully to taunt Ryuko of her true identity to be her long-lost daughter.
    8. She breaks Ryuko's mind into subservience and later molests her mind-controlled daughter before sending her off in an attempt to kill her friends resisting her.
    9. Even when offered a chance of reconciliation by Ryuko, Ragyo callously laughs the thought as beneath her as she spitefully crushes her heart and then taunts Ryuko on how her efforts will be for naught and the Life Fibers will return.
    10. Ragyo cares for no one but herself and is more than happy to trample over anyone, even her own family, if it's to gain more wealth and power.
    11. Despite the flamboyant and hammy nature of the series, Ragyō lacks any genuinely comedic quirk every other character has, even Nui, whose humor is more sadistic, and her crimes being taken with dark gravity.
    12. Her motives are nonsensical, as she explains that her ultimate goal is to annihilate humanity and have the alien Life Fibers rule earth. None of her evil plans are expanded upon beyond being evil for the sake of it.
    13. Her death is anticlimactic and unsatisfying, as she was not defeated by Ryoko with some awesome final attack, but instead chose to kill herself just because.
    14. Due to her abusive and raping methods towards both her daughters, she is widely considered to be the worst mother in the series and one of the worst mothers in fiction.

    Redeeming Qualities

    1. Despite being one dimensional and a generic doomsday villain, she still manages to be a credible threat and a repulsive person you wanna see die.
    2. Romni Park and Laura Post both did a decent job voicing her.

    Trivia

    • Even though it has been stated that only Ryūko can hear Senketsu but at the end of Episode 23, Ragyō heard Senketsu state some words.
    • The seven scars on Ragyō's back serve as a homage to Kenshiro's seven star scars from the anime/manga Fist of the North Star
