    Mario Strikers Charged (Flanderized)

Princess Peach is the main character of Super Mario Bros. where she took her role as a damsel in distress. She is voiced by Samantha Kelly.

However, she was flanderized in Mario Strikers Charged as a diva/celebrity than a princess.

    Bad Qualities

    1. She was flanderized from a sweet, innocent, wise, and occasionally energetic princess into a stereotypical diva who shares personalities with Paris Hilton or the Kardashians, and when she loses, she throws temper tantrums.
    2. Her source material stays away from her original powers, her heart powers, and uses her powers related to celebrities, as well as her Mega Strike, which gains her wings to push balls.
    3. Speaking of her Mega Strike, even though the pink background is part of her source material, the wings do not relate to her Super Strike, then later Hyper Strike, and it should have been replaced with heart auras, making it a missed opportunity.
    4. Her animations involve her making sexy poses, especially her hip shake in one of her goal animations, which comes off as somewhat inappropriate for a children's game, like this one.
      • Granted she did happen in Super Smash Bros, franchise where she uses her hips to attack fighters, aka Peach Bomber, but the franchise is still a mixture of both light and dark elements with balanced tone compared to this.
    5. Her theme, while catchy and good, does not fit well for her and it would also happen again in Mario Strikers Battle League.
    6. Her losing animations involve throwing tantrums, which is considered violent for a children's game and she would have gone to a therapist if her personality is like that.
    7. Her first losing animation makes he look like a crybaby after she stomped twice.
    8. Her second losing animation involves her insulting to her sidekicks and cowers the latter in fear, despite not doing anything wrong. Talk about cruelty.
    9. While Samantha Kelly did a decent job voicing her, her voices in her temper tantrums are a bit jarring.

    Good Qualities

    1. She was a much better and likable character outside of this game and she was redeemed in Super Mario Galaxy.
      • On a side note, she was massively redeemed in Mario Strikers Battle League, thus reverting back to her original sweet, innocent, cunning, and occasionally energetic princess self.
    2. Her design is still good.
    3. Samantha Kelly did a good job voicing her, despite her tantrum noises being jarring.
    4. She does get her comeuppance throughout the game, where one of the captains or sidekicks knock her down on an electric fence to give a taste of her own medicine, even though it was not enough.
    5. Despite being cruel, her second losing animation with Birdo is hilarious, with the latter walking away thanks to her "talk to the hand" gesture.
    6. At least her flanderization is not as bad as her Mario Fables or SML counterpart.
