Nancy is a minor character from the Tom and Jerry franchise. She is the main antagonist of the episode "Baby Puss" where she torments Tom by treating him like a baby and always yelling and scolding him. She didn't make another appearance again until the Tom and Jerry Tales episode "Don't Bring Your Pet to School Day".

Why She Deserves to Eat Castor Oil

1. She has the tendency to scold and threaten poor Tom non-stop.
2. She put Tom in baby gear in her first appearance.
3. She never realized what Tom was going through while she was gone (Jerry bothering him and the other cats bullying him) even when she saw the other cats.
4. Since her parents are never seen, she never gets disciplined or punished for her actions. This throws her into the Karma Houdini trope.
5. Her voice by Leone LeDoux is extremely annoying and grating, and even her second voice actress, Nicole Bouma, is no better either.
6. Her abuse of Tom worsens when she feeds him castor oil, which made him vomit. She definitely went too far with that.
7. She shows zero mercy nor sympathy for Tom and doesn't even realize how she was treating him.
8. She never apologizes to Tom for her actions towards him.
9. She was at her absolute worst in her first appearance where she badly treated Tom by pushing him around and treating him like a baby.
10. She didn't learn her lesson when she returned in "Don't Bring Your Pet to School Day", where she still mistreats Tom as she takes him to school for "Bring Your Pet to School Day", especially when she threatens to send him back to the pound, to the point that Tom imagines himself being locked up and scared by angry dogs.
    • Furthermore, she used Tom like a tool and always scolded him on-screen. The only reason why she spared Tom was because he got a gold star. If Tom hadn't, she would have left him in the pound with angry dogs.

Redeeming Qualities

1. While more abusive than Jeannie the Babysitter, she's nowhere near as abusive as Tom's owner from the Gene Deitch era.
2. At the start of "Don't Bring Your Pet to School Day", she did have a valid reason to stop Tom from provoking and eating Jerry because the latter was a pet of one of her classmates.
   • Her final words were "You may not be the nicest cat, but you did win the gold star for being the best dancer", which was nice of her to say to Tom.
3. She is just a child so she probably doesn't understand that she is doing bad things, although that definitely doesn't excuse what she's done.
