You thought Scrappy and Flim-Flam were the only ones who had bad counterparts? Think again, as this isn’t the same Mystery Incorporated we all know and love.

Mystery inc. are the main characters in the Scooby-Doo franchise and the main characters in its spin-off, Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!.

    Why They're Not So Cool

NOTE: This article only applies to them as depicted in Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!

    General

    1. Their redesigns are awful and look little to nothing like their original selves. They instead look more like Warner Bros. Animation's bad attempt to imitate Seth MacFarlane's art style like Family Guy, American Dad!, The Cleveland Show or Brickleberry art style, not even The Simpsons.
    2. Speaking of their redesigns, they're unfitting in the Scooby-Doo franchise, as they fit more into an adult cartoon or parody.
    3. Their humor has become more unfunny, pathetic, and cruel.

    Fred Jones

    1. He was badly flanderized from a smart, likable, and sane leader into an arrogant moron whom is stuck in his own ego even more than he was in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, where he is into traps.
    2. He also became a really bad leader, as he annoys and bores the gang more often than not.
    3. He has many laughably bad quotes, such as "No, we’re talking about the Mystery Machine. MY mystery machine. My baby. I can reason with it. It’ll listen to me."

    Daphne Blake

    1. She was horribly flanderized from a smart and charming girl into an annoying, bumbling and idiotic Mary Sue.
      • For examples, she uses puppets to talk to herself, which is just dumb.
      • Daphne may not be the smartest member of the Mystery Inc., but at least she did had some degrees of intelligence and is nowhere a complete moron like in this version.
    2. She also became a huge Mary-Sue, where nothing bad happens to her, and she never gets kidnapped unlike her original counterpart.
    3. She has many laughably bad quotes, such as "Oh, so Shaggy can have a dog, but I can’t have a bunny, a pig, a goat, a duck, and a lobster?"

    Velma Dinkley

    1. She was badly flanderized from a smart, likable, and helpful person into the person hiding in the gang's shadows and no one takes her seriously.
    2. Even when she does has her moments, she also became a complete worshipper of technology and science with no moral depths.
    3. She has many laughably bad quotes, such as "Statistically, sharks attacking people sitting safely on deck chairs reading is 0. Hah. Statistics. You're in my house now, son!"

    Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo

    1. They was badly flanderized from a coward, but funny, helpful and likable characters into an even dumber idiot and a worshipper of food.
    2. They even disobeyed Velma not to continue eating a food trap in one episode.
    3. They have many laughably bad quotes, such as "Stare at us suspiciously." and "We’re useless when it comes to mysteries anyway."

    Redeeming Qualities

    General

    1. They were likable in all other entries outside Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!.
    2. They can be intentionally funny.
    3. The did improved a bit as the show continued.

    Fred Jones

    1. Frank Welker still does a very great job voicing him.
    2. The producers removed any traces of his ego to make him a more likable character.

    Daphne Blake

    1. Despite her noticeably dumber portrayal, she's still one of the nicest members in the gang.
    2. There was at least an attempt to give Daphne more of a personality beyond being the "rich, pretty damsel-in-distress who exists purely for fanservice", albeit with botched results. But other Scooby-Doo shows have done that attempt correctly like Scooby Doo and Guess Who?, The New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show, The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, and What's New, Scooby-Doo?.
    3. Grey DeLisle still did a good job voicing her.
    4. the show made her smart again and removed any traces of being a Mary-Sue.

    Velma Dinkley

    1. This is the first time Kate Micucci voices her, and she voices her quite nicely.
    2. She became more focused and gave her moral depths as the show progressed.
    3. Out of all of the characters, she is still very intelligent.
    4. She is considered to be better than her Velma counterpart by most fans.

    Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo

    1. Out of the all of them, they are the least flanderized and there personalities are barely even different.
    2. Matthew Lillard still does a very great job voicing him.
    3. They both had gotten a lot smarter and they went back to being normal funny dumb along with them maintain there worships of food.
    4. Scooby has the most passable design out of all of the characters.
