Mr. Bolhofner is a minor character (recurring antagonist as of season 5) of the 2016-present Nickelodeon series The Loud House. He is a math teacher at Royal Woods Middle School in "Middle Men" and "Hero Today, Gone Tomorrow", and is Lincoln and Chandler's homeroom teacher starting from "Schooled!" since Principal Ramirez doesn't work out for Lincoln to assigned to Mrs. Salter's class with his friends because there's no room left in Mrs. Salter's class. He is voiced by James Arnold Taylor who's also known for voicing characters such as the then-infamous and then-notorious Johnny Test from the series of the same name in seasons 4-8 and Obi-Wan Kenobi on the more well-received Star Wars: Clone Wars (both the 2003 and 2008 animated series) .

While he was tolerable in the two season 3 episodes, "Middle Men" and "Hero Today, Gone Tomorrow", he underwent flanderization beginning in season 5, but became a little bit more likable in season 6.

Why He's Intentionally a Filthy Teacher Now

1. Originally during the two season 3 episodes he appeared in ("Middle Men" and "Hero Today, Gone Tomorrow"), he was a clean and hygienic teacher who was strict but fair towards his students who taught in a classroom. However, when he became a sixth grade teacher and a true villain in season 5, he was flanderized to become a filthy slob of a rude teacher who talks down to his students and teaches in a rundown trailer outside the school (in the season 5 premiere episode "Schooled!") for some unexplained reason.
2. He is now very sadistic as he punishes his students over something so shallow or trivial.
3. He is now very mean-spirited towards Lincoln and his friends especially for some unexplained reason.
4. He was at his absolute worst in "Schooled!" (the episode where his flanderization began) where he punishes Lincoln for things that weren't his fault and doesn't even let him explain himself.
   • He made Lincoln have lunch with him for "disrupting his class" when actually Lincoln was telling Chandler to stop kicking the back of his seat.
   • He sent Lincoln to the principal's office for being late to class, even though Lynn made him late by shoving him in a locker.
5. He is now shown to be very petty for in a couple of episodes:
   • In "Kernel of Truth" he sued the middle school because Stella guessed his age wrong.
   • In "No Bus, No Fuss" when Lincoln's mom Rita accidentally cuts him off at the school parking lot, later he takes out his anger at Vanzilla by shoving it out of the way and cuts in front of Lincoln and his friends in line at the cafeteria as revenge.
6. The disgusting running gag of him constantly showing his bad breath.

Redeeming Qualities

1. He was a much more tolerable character in the season three episodes "Middle Men" and "Hero Today, Gone Tomorrow" and he improved a bit in season 6, as he isn't as mean-spirited and sadistic here, similar to Lincoln Loud improving himself in season 5 before and Leni Loud improving herself a bit in season 6. He is also better in The Really Loud House.
2. James Arnold Taylor also still does an awesome job voicing him, and Brian Thomas Smith does a great job potraying him in The Really Loud House. His designs are also still good, despite WH'sAFCTWSBF#1.
3. In the episode "Rumor Has It", it is implied that part of the reason why he's like this now is because of rumors people spread about him at Royal Woods Middle School, showing that he is not completely heartless.
   • "For Sale by Loner" also implies another part of the reason why he's like this now is because of the fact that he now lives in the cabin.
4. He is more tolerable in these episodes:
   • "Flying Solo"
   • "Rumor Has It"
   • "For Sale by Loner"
   • "Frame on You"
   • "The Loud House Super Sports Special"
   • "Musical Chairs"
   • "All the Rage"
   • "Sofa, So Good"
   • "Driver's Dread"
   • "Super-Switcherooni-verse"
   • "The Orchid Grief"
   • "The Banana Split Decision" (depending on your view)
   • "Lynn and Order"
   • "Snow Escape"
   • "Snow News Day"
5. He oftentimes acts nice to his students, even after his flanderization, like "Schooled!", "Rumor Has It", "Musical Chairs", "All the Rage", "The Orchid Grief", "The Banana Split Decision", "Snow Escape", and "Snow News Day".
6. He does have a handful of funny moments in the series, despite WH'sAFCTW'sGSN#5.
7. Because of his flanderization, he's now probably meant to be hated due to how he treats Lincoln.
