    Microwave (The Brave Little Toaster)

    Microwave
"She doesn't need any of you. What she needs is a hot one."
    Gender: Male
    Type: Boastful and Pompous Jerk
    Species: Microwave
    Portrayed by: Wayne Knight
    Status: Alive
Media of origin: The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars

The Microwave is a character from Disney's 1998 animated film The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars, the third installment in The Brave Little Toaster trilogy.

He was voiced by Wayne Knight.

Why He Deserves To Be Shoved Back Into His Box

    1. He is a boastful, pompous, arrogant, and snobbish jerk, as shown by how he thinks that he is more useful than Toaster, Blanky, Lampy, Radio, and Kirby.
      • In his first scene, he rubs it in the face of the appliances and Ratso of how useful he is.
    2. He gets mad when Blanky and Radio try to stand up to him, whenever touched, and when Ratso suggests that they shove him back into his box, proving he's a weakling.
    3. While Wayne Knight is a talented actor and with this role does a good job here, some viewers may associate his voice with someone annoying or just unlikeable, and that might be their perception of him, although that's not the only reason as stated above.
    4. His visual design or animation style, while also nice, could make him look worse.
    5. He has a less-developed character arc in the storyline, and since he was so rude early on, it's a struggle to connect with or empathize with the character.
    6. His role in the plot is minor, so viewers do not have enough exposure to the character to form a positive impression, leading to indifference or negative perceptions.
    7. The humor associated with Microwave doesn't align with the story and it isn't very funny.
    8. Sometimes, personal preferences play a significant role, and viewers might simply prefer other characters in the movie over Microwave for subjective reasons.
    9. Near the end of the film, when he is last seen, he ends up cheating against Ratso when playing Tic Tac Toe.
    10. He doesn't have much of a personality other than being a boastful bully.

    Redeeming Qualities

    1. He thankfully redeems himself and becomes more tolerable when assists Toaster and the other appliances on their quest to Mars.
      • After the beginning of the movie, he can technically be seen as a tolerable character.
    2. When Toaster and the other appliances head to Mars, he also plays a specific role in the journey that contributes to teamwork.
    3. Wayne Knight does a good job voicing him.
    4. His design is nice.
