Gavin Throttle is a minor antagonist and one-shot character in South Park. His only appearance was in the heavily panned episode "Stanley's Cup", in which he serves as the coach of the Adams County Pee-Wee Hockey Team, a rival team Stan's team faces in the episode.

Why He Sucks

1. Gavin is nothing more than a Gary Stu who believes that his team is superior to Stan's.
2. Because he is the coach, his team also provokes a similar arrogant mindset to his.
3. He and his team only care about winning and nothing else, which proves how competitive he is.
4. He proved to be very mean-spirited and even sadistic in a sense, as he showed no sympathy that the opposing team has one member (Nelson) suffering from cancer.
   • This is especially evidenced when he trash-talks Stan's team before the match, telling him "We're gonna beat you into the ground, cancer or no!"
5. In spite of his pride, his team proved to be no better than Stan's as the match ended with a 0-0 draw.
6. He is another example of the mean popular boy stereotype.
7. He never got punished for his actions, which makes him a member of the Karma Houdini trope.

Redeeming Qualities

1. At least his team didn't resort to extreme brutality and torture, unlike a certain other team later on in the same episode.
2. His design seems passable and elegant-looking as usual.
3. He stopped making appearances in the South Park franchise after this episode due to the backlash he received from critics and fans.
