    "Hate-Sink" Bully
    Species: Human
    Portrayed by: George Back

Media of origin: Talking Tom & Friends

Darren is a character from Talking Tom & Friends. A rich kid who is initially shown to be a rival to Ginger at a tennis tournament, it is revealed in season 2 that he is Carl (also known as the CEO)'s nephew. He acts in a snobbish manner around Ginger and the gang, and is later shown to be secretively wishing to become the CEO's heir, often accidentally referring to Carl as "my inheritance" when Carl is in danger.

    Why He Sucks

    1. While he was meant to be a character for the main cast and the audience to hate and resent him as an antagonist, his sole purpose is to be completely obnoxious, and painfully egotistical towards anyone around him just to seem cool, and to be completely mean-spirited towards Ginger for extremely petty reasons. Even when it gets carried to the point of being too insufferable to be a likable character.
    2. He is just the typical "goody-goody" kid who's not only unlikeable but also very selfish, narcissistic, and manipulative.
    3. He often never gets his comeuppance for the sadistic things he does with malicious intent, a sign of him being a Karma Houdini:
      1. In "Tennis Kid", he mocks Ginger multiple times for unclear reasons, and Darren is proven to be a bad winner.
      2. In "The Backup Genius", Darren tricks the gang into thinking he is a good person but then betrays them all. Luckily, this was one of several exceptions when they get back at him in the end.
      3. In "Ginger and the Girl", he and his teammate for an upcoming project, Ronnie (who is Ginger's friend), steal Ginger and Tanya's project so they can win.
    4. Just like Allen Gregory, he has an oddly mismatched voice for someone his age and also speaks like an actual adult for whatever reason. Other fictional children have a youthful characteristic to their voices. (i.e. Gumball from The Amazing World of Gumball for example).
    5. His design is very ugly, even for Talking Tom & Friends standards.

    Redeeming Qualities

    1. He is much less stupid than his uncle.
    2. He did improve a bit in seasons 4 and 5 as he became less of an antagonist.
    3. He does gets his comeuppance at times, mostly after season 2.
