    (Redirected from Dana (Wayside))
    Yodana "Dana"
    "Yes, I do!"
Oh well, then how about change your ways of your awful behavior?
    Gender: Female
Type: The Dark Side of Dana
    Age: 12
    Species: Human
    Portrayed by: Lisa Ng
    Status: Human
    Media of origin: Wayside

Yodana, usually shortened to just Dana, is one of the main characters in the Wayside. She is one of the many students in Mrs. Jewls' class. She is a studious and organized girl with a love for Wayside School's many rules; as a result, she often acts as a guide for Todd, Myron, and Maurecia. She wears glasses and is very emotive, often laughing or crying way more than anyone else in Mrs. Jewls' class. She was voiced by Lisa Ng.

She was likable in the books and the 2005 pilot movie, Unfortunately, in the cartoon, she was flanderized.

    Bad Qualities

Note: This only applies to her character as depicted in the cartoon.

    1. She was derailed generally from an emotional girl to a psychotic rule-worshipping nerd. While it isn't some kind of a bad trait, she tends to take it to higher degree.
    2. Like most of the characters of Wayside, she tends to act idiotic at times, despite her nerdy status.
    3. She may find it unfair when kept out of a situation that she'd expect to be placed in, as shown in "Honors Class", where she fights Mrs. Jewls when the former learns she didn't score well enough to be placed in Miss Mush's honors class on the 29th story.
    4. Most of the time, she tries to stick to the rules to a point of obsession, where it physically pains her to break them and actively wishes there were more rules at Wayside School.
    5. In "Pull My Pigtail", she forces Todd to kiss Maurecia, which got him into trouble. In the same episode, it's shown that she gets Todd hurt everytime she and Myron, rather insistently, celebrate "special days", and this occasionally bothers Todd.
    6. Her "Enough with the [X]" catchphrase, usually "fun", can come off as very annoying and makes it look like she's forbidding herself from having any strong emotion.
    7. She never gets punished for any of her actions, makes her a Karma Houdini.
    8. Her design, while good, looks rather generic.
    9. Although she and Myron are best friends as shown in "Best Friendzzz", this doesn't stop Dana from occasionally being annoyed by Myron's behavior, such as in "Dr. Dana", when he bothers her during her Dr. Dana show, or in the aforementioned "Best Friendzzz" when they nearly break up their relationship after he states he finds her too "predictable". While typically they remain on good terms, she won't hold back whenever he messes up.
    10. While Todd is grateful for Dana's obsession of the school rules because they help him figure out his way around the school, he is usually bothered by her excitable attitude.

    "Yes, I Do!" Qualities

    1. Lisa Ng does a great job voicing her.
    2. She does have a reason to listen to the rules and paying attention to the teacher.
    3. Her character design is good and cute, despite looking generic and mediocre.
    4. She still cares about her friends like in the books.
    5. She appears to be friendly and negotiable as she has formed positive relationships with many of her classmates, including Myron, though she does know to give proper punishment when deserved as shown in "Dr. Dana".
    6. It's also shown in the aforementioned episode that she knows enough about the people around her and enjoys taking time to solve their problems.
    7. She was a much better character in the books and the movie.
      • Speaking of which, in "Class Cow", she started to act like her book counterpart, which was a nice touch.
    8. "Enough with the laughing!"
