I found out that the namer of the Mary Sue character type could be Lieutenant Mary Sue from the Star Trek fanfiction A Trekkie's Tale, who is a 15-year-old half-Vulcan that is somehow unrealistically beautiful and single-handedly saves the Enterprise at the cost of her life.
As of when I posted this, I do not yet know if anyone here knows this already.
