Bud Buckwald is the main protagonist of the 2016 Fox animated series Bordertown. He is a police officer who is voiced by Hank Azaria.

Why He Sucks

He is extremely racist towards anyone who is Mexican, mainly because ironically, he's being bested by a number of Mexicans, one of which is his Boss Steve Hernandez.
He barely pays any attention towards his daughter, Gert. For example, in 'J.C Strikes', he befriended an ostrich and started to pay more attention to it than towards Gert. Which causes her to kill the ostrich at the end.
Even worse, Gertrude is the only child of the three he's proud of, showing he doesn't care about his other children.
When Janice was first pregnant with Sanford, he was already upset and attempted to use the coat hanger to get him aborted.
His great great grandfather founded the Californian side of Mexifornia. With such a rich family history, so deeply embedded in Mexican racism, he's really insulting his family legacy.
Bud is terrible at his border patrol job, having failed to catch every Mexican who's ever crossed over and the Mexicans are well aware of this.
His design isn't all that great.
He is unnecessarily mean to Ernesto on occasions.
He is yet another cashcow clone of Peter Griffin.

Hank Azaria does a decent job voicing him.
It is sort of explained why he doesn't like Hispanic people, because Bud's father was a soldier, who died fighting Mexicans in a war between both sides of Mexifornia. He obviously passed down his twisted world views to his son, and now Bud is trying his darnedest to live up to be at least half the man his father was. He's had no such luck so far. But that still doesn't excuse him from his actions.
