    • "X would not be the same without him/her/them." or "X would likely not be as great as it is without him/her/them."

While this pointer may make sense for those who have seen the show/series the character is from, there should be some kind of reason provided. Otherwise, it's a rather pointless pointer that seems to contradict why the character is on the wiki to begin with and it should be removed.

    • "He/She/They never appeared again." or "He/She/They were never seen or mentioned again."

Whether a character that sucks appears in just one episode or is written off the show, this is NOT a redeeming quality! For one-shot characters, it is already given that the character is gone after their one appearance.

It is also possible for a character that was unlikable in their first appearance to go away for a while then appear again and actually redeem themselves so their reputation is not forever ruined. This happened with Gilda the Griffon from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

    • Any pointers that say the character is a disgrace to other characters or makes X roll in their grave.

No, just no. I saw these on the Tomorrow's Pioneers pages when they had terrible pointers like these that didn't help describe the costumed characters.

    • "His/her/their design is decent."

This is a generic redeeming quality and at least a few more words should be provided. It is also rather pointless for flanderized characters if their appearance doesn't change.

    • "He/she/they occasionally has his/her/their original personality/persona."

Well, isn't that nice to know that a badly flanderized reoccurring character isn't always flanderized? Why not mention a couple of episodes to support the argument!

    • "insert funny/memorable quote here!"

I'd prefer to see at least a brief explanation for why a character's quote is a good/redeeming quality.

    • "He/She/they are supposed to be hated/loathed" or "Making him/her/them unlikeable was intentional" or mentioning the character is a hatesink.

For intentionally bad characters, I have thought that these pointers are acceptable as redeeming qualities. Such pointers should mention something about the character to support the argument. Otherwise, it's another weak pointer if the first header on the page says something like "Why He/She/They Intentionally Suck(s)".

    • "Some fans still root for him/her/them."

A pointless pointer, since most characters still have some fans even if they go downhill. And without this pointer, this wiki is not saying that you must root against them.

    • "Does that sound familiar?" (with a link to another character page)

Only include this in pointers if the link takes you to another character that actually shares enough similarities to the character on the page. Otherwise, don't add this just to shoehorn a link to your own character pages, that's just annoying.
