Just wrote this so that I can vent. He's not widely hated in the Choices community, but several people have become increasing frustrated with him
Ethan Ramsey is a doctor and the forced love interest from the Open Heart series.
Why he sucks
1. He gets a ridiculous amount of screen time to the point it honestly feels like he stalks the Main Character.
2. He treats the main character as his personal therapist and burdens them with his family drama and other issues.
3. He is incredibly immature. He often throws tantrums when things don't go his way and treats every rich person as if they were the spawn of Satan.
4. Part of the reason why Leland Bloom was able to buy out Edenbrook Hospital was because Ethan was too stubborn to make amends with his old rival, Tobias Carrick.
5. He treats people not agreeing with him as a personal attack.
6. During the first book, there were times where he was incredibly rude to the interns for no real reason other than he felt like it.
7. He sabotaged Elijah's research and didn't come clean until the last minute, causing the Main Character to nearly take the fall for his actions.
8. His suspension after said sabotage only lasts roughly twenty-four hours. To clarify, the Main Character gets suspended in the first book and said suspension lasts for several days. After his suspension, he acts extremely smug, cocky, and arrogant, making him come across as a narcissist who thinks that he's untouchable.
Redeeming Qualities
1. The first book in the series mostly portrayed him as a strict but fair mentor. It's the other books in the series that turned him into an intolerable asshole.
